Industrial/Mechanical Designer

Reporting to the Product Manager, the incumbent works on the design and improvement of innovative luminaires in compliance with the various applicable standards for our multiple brands (Lumenpulse, Paco, ALW and Vode). He/she collaborates with Product Managers in the development of scopes, identifies opportunities for innovation and proposes solutions. He/she cooperates with various internal and external resources to bring projects to fruition.

Your Responsibilities

• Design standard and customized products.
• Evaluate and respect established budgets.
• Follow quality procedures related to product design and engineering.
• Select materials and components according to applications.
• Promote a high level of quality within the department.
• Maintain standard documents.
• Participate in product testing and installation for assigned projects when required.
• Provide technical support to other departments.
• Document projects according to department procedures.
• Maintain a problem-solving attitude.

Education + Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in industrial design or any other program/experience deemed relevant.
• 2-5 years of relevant product design experience.
• 1-2 years' experience in the lighting industry (or related industry) will be considered an asset.

Qualifications + Skills Required

• Proficiency in Solidworks.
• Be bilingual, French and English, spoken and written. The incumbent will be required to interact daily with international colleagues, customers or partners who speak only English.
• Ability to organize to manage a multitude of priorities and tasks; results oriented.
• Demonstrate good communication skills, autonomy, initiative and adaptability.
• Demonstrate creativity and an ability to innovate.
